Google makes an effort to bring Gsuite apps together so you don’t have to install other apps, so you can install one and it works for both services. But if you are not a fan of both of these One Switch apps, here is a step by step guide on how to turn off the Google Meet tab in Android and iOS.
Google meet is Google’s meeting service and that was their years before they became Hangout Meet. And this service was exclusive to GSuite users before but now Google made it free for everyone to compete with Zoom. This new Meet tab in the Gmail app is only available to GSuite users and not to everyone.
Google has announced this before, but it has recently seen the light of day. Some people don’t like it because it feels congested or bloated. So if you feel the same, here is a step by step guide for you to turn off this tab from the Gmail app.
Steps to turn off the Google Meet tab in Gmail
1]Open the Gmail with the Guite account connected. There will be two Gmail apps if you have the normal Gsuite and Gmail account logged into the same phone.
2]Open the Hamberger menu, you can do this by swiping your finger to the right from the left edge.
3]To select Settings from there and then select the account.
4]Scroll down to find the Chat and meet in the settings then click on the Hide the Meet section in the main menu option.
5]Click on Save changes and the Meet tab will be disabled in the main menu.
